Pancake Event 2026
Earlier this month we held our annual Pancake Day at the Pulborough Village Hall.
What A Huge Success It Was!!
Special thanks to Louise Kaiser and her team in the kitchen who did an amazing job and sent out 560 orders of pancakes, raising an incredible amount of £3581 for charity. They money raised will be shared equally between the 3 nominated charities. These are: PDCCA Lunch and Social Club, Macmillan Palliative Care unit, and Education West Africa.
Special thanks also to all the volunteers who helped on the day, taking orders, serving drinks and pancakes, selling tombola tickets and generally having a cheery disposition.
We had some very generous sponsors; they include LMC Auto Services, Charlie’s Farm Shop, Coombelands Equestrian, Laker Builders Merchant, Comyn & James, The Old Forge in Storrington, The Rising Sun, Southdowns Patisserie, The Amberley Tea Room and Tesco Pulborough. These fabulous local businesses covered all of our expenses, meaning that all money raised will be going to charity.
Thank you to all the people who came and supported this event.
"An absolutely brilliant event, huge thanks to Louise and the rest of the team."
"The pancakes were so delicious that I had 2!"
"It was a lovely atmosphere with people meeting new folk at the tables and chatting away merrily."

Pulborough Pantry Volunteers Welcome Party 2026
At the end of 2025, the PDCCA adopted the successful scheme, The Pulborough Pantry. This scheme fits in very well with what we do within the community. It is volunteer run and we are extremely lucky to welcome them all into the PDCCA family.
In January we held a welcome party for the Pulborough Pantry Volunteers. We had lots of cake, savoury snacks and hot beverages.
During the party, it gave us the chance to get to know some of the volunteers in person and to reassure them of our commitment to the scheme. It also gave us a chance to tell them about our other schemes, which benefit Pulborough residents and surrounding villages.
With the joint support of all our volunteers, new and old, we will have a significantly positive impact on our community. Thank you to our amazing team of volunteers who give up their free time for others in need, and who have an abundance of patience and empathy.

Champs Hill 2025
In June, the High Sheriff of West Sussex, Dr. Tim Fooks, held a summer reception at Champs Hill.
During his year as High Sheriff, Dr. Fooks is focusing on supporting people who suffer from isolation and mental health issues.
Throughout his 30 and more years as a GP in Pulborough, Dr. Fooks has admired the Pulborough and District Community Care Association (PDCCA) and the way it has continued to grow and develop more services for local residents – while remaining a volunteer-run charity.
PDCCA has been helping and supporting people in Pulborough and the surrounding villages since 1966. As such, PDCCA plays a vital role in the life of the local community. They provide a weekly Lunch and Social Club, a weekly Pop-In for parents and babies, a Befriending Service and a Community Transport scheme. They have also recently started a new community cooking initiative.
At his summer reception, Dr. Fooks supported PDCCA’s fundraising through an auction of tremendous prizes. The auction prizes included ‘A Day at Nutbourne Vineyard’, dinner and accommodation at The Swan Inn, Cream Tea at Bailiffscourt, membership at Goodwood Kennels Private Club, seats in the Chairman’s Private Box at Glyndebourne, a Cowdray Picnic Hamper, Wiston’s Sundowner Vineyard Safari Tour and dinner, and a day’s sailing and lunch with the High Sheriff himself!
Among the guests, we had Deputy Lieutenants, Lords and Ladies, Judges, Local MP and district counsellors, GP’s, representatives of local charities, members of the police service and regular donators to PDCCA. It was a wonderful evening for all to get to know each other and build relationships.
Both Dr. Fooks and PDCCA are deeply grateful to Mary Bowerman for hosting the reception at Champs Hill, to Rupert Toovey for being the auctioneer and to all those who contributed their time and gifts so generously to this event.
